Mining town and capital of Summit County, Colorado Territory

Town is located near the headwaters of the Blue River, 10,000-feet above sea level.

Blue River flows from the base of Mt. Lincoln.  The basin of the Upper Blue is one of the most valuable mineral areas of the Colorado Territory.
