Book is a first edition, third printing in second issue dust jacket
Please read the following:
Condition: book is fair with light discoloration to green cloth and fading of gold lettering on spine; lower right-hand corner of front cover chipped; internal spine damage at base; binding still strong; dust jacket heavily chipped, front panel repaired although no restoration; flaps complete as well as back panel complete; head and toe of spine headibly chipped. More questions concerning condition, please ask.
Shirley Chidsey was an assistant editor for Knopf Publishers; married Donald Barr Chidsey; worked on The Bounty Trilogy with Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall (The Mutiny on the Bounty, 1932, Men Against the Sea, 1933 and Pitcairn’s Island, 1934).
After divorcing Donald Chidsey, she changed her name to Shirley Bridgewater (maiden name: Shirley Armitage Bridgewater)
