Company had financed the construction of smelter building near Red Cliff, Eagle County, Colorado. It was 6 stories high (94 feet) and 412,000 square feet of timber was used. The smelter was designed to process 80 tons of ore per day. Unfortunately, the smelting process employed turned out to be unproductive. In 1882, the Company forfeited its property to a sheriff’s sale.
