This publication is a wealth of information on the history of the Portland Mine, and also the Cripple Creek Gold Mining District of Colorado.
Publication dimensions: 9-1/2 inches by 12 inches; 110 pages, plus folding maps and photographs 44 half-tone illustrations,photographs taken by A. J. Harlan; 34 Maps & Diagrams. Basically, a “magnum opus” of wondrous Colorado gold mining annual reports. Folding maps are topographic, sectional, underground, geologic, drainage tunnels, gold veins, etc. Most are 16-1/2 inches by 12 inches; multi-color.
A. J. Harlan photographs are full-page, collage, and folding; frontis is 28 inches by 12 inches.
The Portland Gold Mining Company was once one of the most productive gold properties in the Cripple Creek Mining District and the State of Colorado. It made numerous mining men millionaires. Today, it is still producing gold.
