Albert P. Nelson was a Gunnison County, Colorado entrepreneur, mine owner, and promoter determined to keep the Town of Pitkin and the surrounding in the minds of investors throughout the State. Nelson owned and operated mineral- and timberlands, water rights, mine and mills in the Quartz Creek Mining District; however, he was not only interested in advancing his own prosperity but also that of the entire of County of Gunnison. This drive encouraged to write, design, and publish this promotional book and accompanying map.
