Sheridan was Commander-In-Chief of this organization of patriotic Union commissioned officers, founded in 1865, after of the Civil War. Founded April 20, 1865 in response to the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Created to preserve memories, strengthen bonds and support families of fallen soldiers.
Major Frederick Jones Bancroft was a Surgeon from Denver, Colorado Territory, who served during the Civil War. He was also father of the historian and Denver socialite, Caroline Bancroft. Dr. Bancroft was a well-known and respected Denver surgeon who also worked for the Denver South Park & Pacific Railroad, as well as the Denver, Leadville & Gunnison Railroad.

Condition: very good to very good plus; folded twice; some preservation stabilization on back of document. Document printed on heavy bond paper.
