Issued 1900 to J. K. O. Sherwood – John Kendrick Oakhurst Sherwood was a New York financier who made a significant fortune investing in the Montana Territory gold rush of the 1860s.
Moved to Glen Cove, Long Island and financed the construction of a large estate in Red Spring. Also financed a gas company in the area.
Pikes Peak Route railroad pass with the Native American logo.
The Colorado Midland Railroad, originally financed by James J. Hagerman and other Colorado Springs, Colorado mining magnates, originated in Colorado Springs, traveled through Buena Vista, Leadville, and terminated in Aspen, Colorado. The railroad was later connected with the Colorado Midland Railroad which terminated in the Cripple Creek Gold Mining District.
Pass is in fine condition.
