THE CENTRAL ASPEN SILVER MINING COMPANY, Pitkin County, Colorado stock certificate #036, issued July 17, 1891, not cancelled.

Near fine condition, usual folds.

Owned the Badger State mines in Hunter Park.  Hunter Park, according to Josiah Spurr (United States Geological Survey Monograph, 1898) was a comparatively isolated mining area between the Lenado and Aspen districts.  Its geology is generally composed of granite in the southeast and red sandstone in the northwest.  The ore deposits were generally found between the formations.  Weber and Maroon geological formations.

British Company organized to mine the Badge State, Last Effort, Evening Star, James, Tara’s Hall and John Bull claims on Smuggler Mountain, Hunter Park.  In 1893, Company was reorganized as The New Aspen Silver Mining Company, Ltd.
