F. SCOTT FITZGERALD

F. Scott Fitzgerald was an American novelist and short story writer, chronicler and symbol of the American Jazz Age, 1920 – 1929. His first novel, THIS SIDE OF PARADISE, published by Scribners, made him and his new wife, Zelda, famous throughout the United States. Although Fitzgerald fought alcoholism most of his adult life, he wrote one hundred and sixty-four short stories during his relatively short career; however, his most important contributions to American literature were his novels, THE GREAT GATSBY and TENDER IS THE NIGHT.
