COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO
A Sanatorium for the Treatment of Tuberculosis in All Its Forms
Photographic Illustrations by Laura Gilpin
“It is the purpose of this booklet to describe briefly, and without exaggeration, the unique features and advantages of CRAGMOR SANATORIUM. The illustrating photographs were for the most part taken during the months of January and February of 1925.”
Although Laura Gilpin’s name is not expressly printed in this publication, several of her photographs previously published in other Pikes Peak Region publications are, once again, published here.
What’s Gilpin’s stylized images are recognizable in every photograph herein.
Gilpin photographs on nearly every page.
The above pages exhibited two familiar Gilpin images: one of Garden of the Gods; and, the other of Pikes Peak Avenue and Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The lefthand page above exhibits a Gilpin photograph labeled, “Overlooking Cramor from Austin Bluffs.” Frank Gilpin’s ranch was located not far from this location, in Horse Creek. Laura Gilpin was intimately familiar with this area east of Colorado Springs.
