Original photograph of a rather unusual Colorado scene: a ferry crossing. This operation, run by Pray & Swindler, was approximately four miles below Glenwood Springs, Colorado, connecting coal mines in South Canon with the Grandstaff & Sweet Ranch. At the time, the Grandstaff & Sweet Ranch was a significant railroad point. Ferry crossing opened October 2, 1886.
