Self-portrait. Yet, in a sense, a symbolic image of many of the second-generation Western American photographers, with “second-generation” meaning the professional photographer after the survey- and exploration-photographer and active during the period of the development of the American West.
Dated on back June 28, 1895. All of the officers of the County are listed on back in old pen, including the assessor, county clerk, sheriff and deputy sheriff, as well as the janitor. A. E. Cooke, photographer.
